Intention of Campaign

We need Homo Rudens, what does it mean? It's the book title of Dutch historian Johan Huizinga wrote. It means 'playing human', says the foundation of culture and civilization is the 'playing' than 'working'. This idea motivated me to design a kind of campaign and make a simple public advertising animation, inducing Koreans to rediscover the value of playing and more various and dense culture of playing spread across the society.
How am I going to show the importance of playing? Don't need to think complex. I came to think of time when i was student and didn't want to study and play, and decided to make those moment into animation.
1. Scenarios
Every basic step of planning for making film is writing scenarios. Fortunately, I have tendency to feel enjoyable in making storylines.
2. Drawings
Expressed processes of changing mind motivated by western famous artworks.
First, a boy exhausted of sitting on the desk and studying, this is motivated by work <The Scream> by Edvard Munch.
Secondly, a boy is drawing smiling faces with some other graphics, motif is from the <La Clairvoyance> by Rene Magritte, here Magritte depicts himself in the act of painting. He looks at an egg but imagines a bird on the canvas.
Lasty, children is lifting up altogether for their playing rights, motivated by <Liberty leading people> by Eugene Delacroix.
3. Still shots
Literally scenes composed of characters, Han-geul(Korean) typographies, graphics.
Especially parts of typos are expressing state of mind with metaphoric forms and colors.
4. Making Animation film
Produced a short kinetic film using Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro.
Thank you for appreciating my work!
